In case you were wondering

A few things about me:

1. This year I will be 33. I'm still young, but I'm older than I was.
2. This year, I will be married to Mr Raitte for 8 years. We met on the internets. He's from Canada.
3. I spent all of my adult life with severe mental illness, apart from the last year. Being well is like feeling the sun on my face after the longest, coldest winter.
4. I never play piano any more. I never make time.
5. My great great great (etc) grandfather, Sir Roland Hill invented the postage stamp - the 'penny post'. It's true!
6. I know a little bit about a lot of things.
7. I hope to have children, before it's too late.

I turned 33 this year too. For some reason it was difficult for me. You are brave for bringing up your past illness. There's so much shame with such things in our culture. I'm glad to hear you are doing better.

Hi again Anna -- 33 is soooo young...and such a great time of your life. Children will come and will change your life forever so enjoy your "kidless" time now ;-)

A little about me... I'm 41, also married to my (third) husband for 8 years, also met him on the internet, have 3 kids from my second marriage (two of them teenagers who are driving me absolutely bananas), know a lot about a few of things and nothing about anything else, and (like you) adore knitting!

Thanks for opening the window (a crack) into your life.

I enjoyed your post today! I also agree...kids will come soon enough. I turn 40 this year and find myself reflecting on the past, but mostly thankful for today. I admire your honesty. I found out I suffered from depression after my second child. Treatment has been life altering and a blessing. Be well.

Brand new reader here; I dropped in today and saw your list first thing. A couple of things on there are startlingly familiar, so if you don't mind, I'd like to stick around for a bit!

Is that by any chance the fashionable Mr. Raitte over there in the photo montage? If so I may have to dash up to Canada and pick me up a hottie!

Inspiring post...I've often thought about posting a "things about me" list but I guess I've never taken the time and I suppose the mystery is a bit fun as well. Anyhow, here are a couple in return in case you're interested - perhaps I'll put it on the blog as well. 1. This year I will turn 29. Next year I plan to turn 29 again. 2. I am not married but my manboy and I have been living together for 5 years in a house with 2 cats and a dog - someday soon we will make if official. 3. Every 5 years (just as my insurance rates are about to go back to normal), I somehow manage to have an auto accident - no other vehicles are ever involved and generally nothing is hurt except the car - just me being an idiot. 4. I used to play the trumpet of all things. 5. I want to know more about a lot of things.
