I've just spent a night at your Mum's then we went to Osterley with Kate. Sarah showed us both your website. It's really lovely, such a great idea. I'm so glad you've taken up knitting. My mother always had a jersey on the go (but not creative knitting like you, just a garment) and I can still feel the sensation of wool on my hands when I was little, holding the hanks for her as she wound it into balls. And the jerseys she made were very special, I always wore them until they fell apart or got too small. A brown one with owls on, fair isle ones, chain stitch ones, a heathery colour jersey and many more. Knitted with love, unlike jerseys which are bought. I really like your blue and copper creation and Sgt Pepper, and the belts.
I have a friend here in Essex called Sara Impey who does quilting and she belongs to a quilting society and goes to conferences and writes for the magazine. So many sub-cultures out there resurrecting valuable old skills and crafts and bringing meaning into people's lives. I think what you're doing is great, so do keep it up.
