You can download the pattern for Elfine’s leaf-lace socks (grown from the toe up, the season’s ‘must have’ hosiery for style-conscious wood-nymphs) here. View the work in progress (and the literary reference) here.

My pleasure. If you come across typos/errors, do let me know.

edit to add: If you prefer to knit lace from a chart, get in touch with Kathy at Kaffeinated Knits and she’ll send you one. Thanks Kathy!

Oooh, I loved the socks when you blogged them and now you are sharing the pattern! That's so wonderful! Thank you! Do I have any yarn suitable? Can I squeeze the last bit of ink out of the printer?
(BTW, the toes aren't short-rowed though the pattern says they are....)

At our Guild meeting last night, one woman was wearing the Elfine socks she had just finished, and another was working on a pair - so beautiful! I have just printed out the pattern, and as a sock junky, can hardly wait to get started on them with some hand-spun/hand-painted merino, tencel & nylon yarn.

Thanks so much for sharing this pattern with us - it is a real hit!

Posted by: Kayla Moonwatcher at February 8, 2006 06:29 PM

I love this pattern! I'm going to use a variegated turquoise/blue/green sock yarn so I'll have to be a swamp dryad. Which fits, sort of, because I live in rainy Washington state.

I just love this pattern. Many of my Norwegian knitting friends don't read english patterns, so I translated for them. But It would be really nice if I could post a picture of them too. Can I use you're picture until I have made a pair of my own to post?
