It moves me

The ingenuity behind these techniques. That there’s no join.

Turkish cast-on as decribed in the latest issue of Vogue Knitting.

Isn't that turkish cast-on wonderful? I used it for my little camera sock last month, and am in love . . .

How elegant.

It's a very interesting technique, I think I'll give it a try soon ;) I'm thinking toes here...

(Feeling guilty. Meant to drop by earlier)
That looks like a very interesting toe start. VK will make its way here in the fullness of time (a very full time). And I love the white and pink yarn.
The birthday stuff - umm well the tree is soooo not me! but the lifepath - interesting. LOL

That is so cool! Beautiful, too.

Do you know, I read this article in VK before falling asleep the other night, and then dreamed of making a sock this way. My brain is an odd place.

The Turkish Toe article has a highlight in the latest VK -- a very good issue overall. I plan on trying the Turkish Toe for my next pair of socks.

I couldn't find your email address to mail you...so I thought I would post a question to you here. What is your recipe for a good afterthought heel? The heels of your rebel socks look so great, particularly with the stripes. If you have a minute please post or email about how you do it. My afterthought heels so far have come out a bit squarish -- not quite right. Also, any tips for avoiding holes on the corners when first adding in the heel? Your knitting is so beautiful, I thought I'd ask someone whose work I truly admire.
Thanks, Angela!

That really is entrancingly neat.

ah... now this could be a good reason to pick up the latest VK!

did you like the turkish cast on better than the figure 8? I like the way it looks but I dont get if Im supposed to decrease on the sides like a regular toe.
