Now with illustrations
These are the pictures that should have gone along with the last post.
'Farv' cardi, with my Pippa cardi for scale. Dad and me.
Daisy cardigan, looking a bit like a Warshcloth. I'm leaving three selvedge stitches at each edge, so that I can seam it... but of course the garter slipped stitch has a greater row tension than stocking stitch. I hope I can just ease the stitches down into the seam; gather the seam a little so that it matches the tension of the main stitch. I'm not decided on the closure. I bought some large, thread covered 'coat hooks' at Liberty on Thursday, but today in my button box found some sweet plastic daisy buttons with yellow centres.
Finally:
I love how slipping stitches makes the striping in variegated yarn judder and break.

You could always skip the edge stitches on the white piece every 8 or whatever rows.

I was going to suggest what Lauren suggested. Also, warshcloth my foot. And I love the edging on your dad's sweater.

Please do not go giving fathers ideas. My father is contented with scarves. As he's 6ft6", I am more than happy for the status quo to prevail...

Well, it's a good job that Dads are worth it! That's a lot of knitting.

What is that last item? Very interesting! I noticed the same thing (breaking up the variegated yarn stripes) when I was experimenting with beading using the bead over slipped stitch method. It was a serendipitous result (I thought), because breaking up the stripes accentuated the beaded motif.

What a lovely blue cardi! You have quite a number of things you are working on. I look forward to seeing the finished products!
I see you like knitting on straights too. Which are your favorites?

I am amazed at the amount of knitting that goes on at your house, my dear. Do you knit with your toes? I finished both Mitford novellas this weekend. Thank you for the suggestions.

I am excited to see how the raglan cardigan for your father turns out.

That raglan for your dad is looking good! I do think that variegated yarn looks perfect with the slipped stitches. You described what it does perfectly "judder and break".
