Tease

Cherry.

cherry cardigan

Neat, chic, sassy. She has that thing they call 'va-va-voom'.

More pictures and pattern coming soon.

However I, from the evidence, could use a little makeover. I was thinking of a short red flapper cut... if I can muster the nerve.

Argh... such a tease... I can't wait!

Posted by: lyn at May 11, 2006 08:17 AM

ooooh, pretty. I have tonight scheduled for the red hair, I'm not brave enough to cut and colour at the same time though!

Posted by: kerrie at May 11, 2006 08:17 AM

Lovely! As for the red hair I say go for it, Just one word of warning though red dye fades more quickly in the sunshine and summer is coming ...Isn't it?

Posted by: janine at May 11, 2006 08:25 AM

Cute, looks like another winner. I'm way overdue for a cut and colour myself (my white hair is showing all over)!

Posted by: erin at May 11, 2006 08:29 AM

that is so cute! i love the drawstring waist. and i love the greens in contrast to the red top.

Posted by: kris at May 11, 2006 09:19 AM

such a tease, but an adorable one too!

Posted by: stinkerbell at May 11, 2006 09:37 AM

Lovely, lovely. What's she made from? When will we be able to cast on? A.x

Posted by: Amelia at May 11, 2006 11:29 AM

This looks gorgeous - I wonder what the neckline is like? Am hoping it is quite low!I am really looking forward to seeing some new patterns too.
You just love to tease us with your ideas.Just finishing the Claude cardigan which is fab!

Posted by: Janet at May 11, 2006 11:49 AM

Looks gorgeous already....
Red would look great on you, Anna.

Posted by: yuvee at May 11, 2006 11:49 AM

Very pretty - I like the stitch detail very much. You, as ever, look lovely in the photograph but it is always so uplifting to have change your hair, isn't it? Looking forward to seeing the red-haired version soon!

Posted by: Anita at May 11, 2006 11:59 AM

What if you go shortish and reddish this time, but nothing too extreme? Then inch toward your goal.

If nothing else, much can be fixed through the use of red lipstick...it's my number-one pick-me-up...and you clearly have the perfect red shade picked out already...

really pretty sweater...

Posted by: Jen at May 11, 2006 12:59 PM

oh what a tease! I love it!

Posted by: yahaira at May 11, 2006 01:34 PM

ooh, SO pretty! I can't wait to see more pictures. And you would look fabulous with a short red flapper cut - it's just hair! go for it!

Posted by: carrie at May 11, 2006 01:37 PM

Lovely, as ever. Not sure how you do all this!

(PS Flapper cut! Flapper cut! Chanting from Nashville . . .)

Posted by: Ann at May 11, 2006 01:42 PM

"It's only hair - it will always grow", she said in an enabling way.

Posted by: B. at May 11, 2006 03:12 PM

Cherry is a winner, and I cannot wait for the pattern. How do you find the time?

As for the hair, I have the flapper cut, or at least the version that every lame hairstylist in my locality thinks is the flapper cut. Bring pics of the cut and color you desire. Ask around, as it's a far more tricky cut than you would think. Also, I've found that Asian salons seem to do the best work when it comes to this cut.

Posted by: Gina at May 11, 2006 04:21 PM

Beautiful! As usual, your knitting style is impeccable. Red hair would be fabulous.

Posted by: Cookie at May 11, 2006 04:21 PM

oooooh I love it! Can't wait for the pattern...

As for hair, do it! I always wanted flapper-short hair, but my hair is curly and it just turns into a bush when I cut it short. So I say, if you're able, do it! :)

Posted by: jennie at May 11, 2006 04:40 PM

Beautiful! Can't wait for the pattern!
Go red first, and then you can decide whether that was enough of a lift, or whether you need the cut too.

Posted by: Carrie at May 11, 2006 05:10 PM

Beautiful knitting, as always. I just read someone has finished "Claude"....I am going to start it this weekend, can't wait. Red flapper cut? Hmmmmmm The cut for sure. I always do highlights because I can't deal with root growth. More pictures more pictures.

Posted by: Leslie at May 11, 2006 05:33 PM

Yea!!!!

Posted by: nikki at May 11, 2006 05:53 PM

GORGEOUS sweater.

Posted by: Daphne at May 11, 2006 05:53 PM

Oh, Anna, what kismet. Which came first, the cherry sweater or the cherry hair inclinations? Whichever way it came to you, I'm looking forward to seeing you in red!

Posted by: Julie at May 11, 2006 06:08 PM

A flapper cut would be great on you! I have naturally red hair and love it (not trying to rub it in) but it would look great on you!. Just as an FYI red does fade and a purple rinse shampoo works wonders for my hair not sure if it is any diff for dyed though hummm. Love the top by the way .., sweet!

Posted by: Michelle at May 11, 2006 10:10 PM

The tee is quite lovely!! I adore the idea of short red flapper hair!! You will be stunning!

Posted by: Leah at May 11, 2006 10:20 PM

Wow, stunning pattern! It doesn't look like you need a makeover to me but they are always fun. Especially ones that involve short red hair. Go for it!

Posted by: Lizzie at May 12, 2006 01:30 AM

The good thing about hair is that it grows back. Maybe not quite as fast as you'd like it to, but grows back nonetheless.

And Cherry looks swell! More pics, please!

Posted by: Leisl at May 12, 2006 03:23 AM

It's excellent - & I'd love to know what the neckline's like.

Posted by: Jane at May 12, 2006 08:47 AM

Love Cherry. A great blast of colour. I think the tie would make me look like a sack of potatoes, whereas you look willowy and elegant, as usual!

IMHO: I think you could really "take" red with your colouring. If you're looking for a hairdresser, Tommy Guns on Beak Street is GREAT. They manage to make me look like a hair model (for longer than 5 minutes). Ask for Katherine for a cut. All their colourists are good, too.

Posted by: Noo at May 12, 2006 10:58 AM

Cherry looks beautiful! And you will look spectacular with a flapper cut. The twenties are my favorite era, and it was such an innovative time for knitwear, too...

Posted by: hege at May 12, 2006 02:36 PM

Love it!!! The color is beautiful and such a flattering shape. Well done. Now, quit being such a tease and show us some more pics! ;-)

Posted by: Vicki at May 12, 2006 07:47 PM

Oh my goodness! How absolutely lovely!

Posted by: Avivah at May 13, 2006 12:22 AM

Hi Amelia, I am new to the world of knitting and blogging about knitting. I had a look at your previous knitting and I think you are very talented. I love the colour of your latest top, it's a good colour on you.

Posted by: Adriana at May 13, 2006 07:05 AM

Very neat, very pretty Anna. I think a flapper cut would look lovely on you.

Posted by: Philippa at May 13, 2006 12:37 PM

I think a short red flapper cut would look neat, chic, and sassy on you!

Posted by: nona at May 16, 2006 06:26 AM

I'm only a week late, but va-va-voom! indeed! You are a naughty tease!
Go for the flapper cut but if your clothes don't go with red hair, go for a different colour - I found that out the hard way! 8-)

Posted by: lynne s of oz at May 17, 2006 08:32 AM

Wow, what another fantastic, elegant item, you just simply oooze talent!!! Looking forward to seeing more pics

Posted by: Tracy at May 17, 2006 11:30 AM

Please post that pattern soon...I keep checking because ITS FABULOUS AND I HAVE TO HAVE IT!:-)
And of course good luck with the flapper 'do if you go there..but try to stay with the darker shades of red as they can so quickly turn "brassy" instead of stay richly radiantly red but it is a great choice for summer hair:-)!

Posted by: mimi at May 17, 2006 08:51 PM

Oh, and I want to say also that I think you would look just marvelous with a flapper hairstyle.

(and I can't wait for the pattern)

Posted by: Avivah at May 19, 2006 06:27 AM

That looks so stylish and suits you really well.

Posted by: Kathleen at May 19, 2006 07:43 AM

Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh, VERY FABULOUS** I can't WAIT to buy this pattern and get to making* I simply MUST have one of these wonders, you are SO talented*

OK Anna, give up your secret: how on earth do you turn out such beautiful garments practically overnight?! Surely you must have some stealth knitter elves working for you? I love Cherry, and I can't wait for the pattern :)

I think red hair would look great on you, although if you're scared to take a big leap, try one of those temporary gel home-color kits; they usually wash out in just a few days. We get them here in the states made by L'Oreal and Clairol--if you can't get them there, I'd be happy to bring some with me in a couple weeks :)

Posted by: parikha at May 20, 2006 07:22 PM

It's very cruel to tell us of your exciting new hair plans and then to disappear for so long.

Just discoverd your site - so beautiful.. such pretty knitting! Have downloaded Jess as you have just answered my 'what shall I knit next?' question!! :)
