In which your heroine expires
Jaeger Extra Fine Merino Chunky has been discontinued.
I'm four balls short of that cabled cardi-coat I was on about. While I continue to phone every Jaeger stockist in the country, Darlings, please scour your stashes, gather your remnants, and sell me, at inflated price, your EFM Chunky in 'Teal': or I shall surely perish.

I wish I had some to offer you Anna, I can think of no finer destiny for such lovely yarn, but alas I don't. I can't believe they have discontinued such a classic yarn, it's one of my long-standing faves. Crazy yarn companies. If I see any on my surfing I shall inform you at once.

Oh NO! I don't have that, but I will ask around.

Anna dearest,
I know how frustrating that is. I searched and found the below for you. They have 5 skeins available it seems.

Oh dear. Good luck, Anna. I truly believe in the magic of the internet fairies, and I hope they come through for you.
I don't understand why yarn companies would ever discontinue anything merino. In my opinion, all yarns should be made of merino.

This shop allows me to place Teal Jaegar EFM Chunky in my cart - I didn't contact them to verify it was in stock, but you can try them, if you haven't already.

This shop seems to have some:

I know that we won't put it on the website if the inventory is running low--and sometimes it is just plain wrong. If you called or emailed they could check for you, I am pretty sure I've seen teal on the shelf.

Hi Anna,
I think I bought some EFM yarn in Teal @ the Liberty's sale. Will check when I get home tonight.
By the way, thanks for the tip re: labels - they arrived a couple of weeks ago. Now, all that's left is for me to finish my WIPs so that I can sew them on. (Easier said then done in my case!)
Cheers,
Ting

Oh, the horror! Definitely try colourway - they always seem to have lots of stuff even after it's discontinued.
Can't wait to see the FO, the color is lovely.
I just purchased your pattern for Flicca, and am now waiting for the yarn for it to arrive. Looking forward to starting that!

I found some for you at a shop in the US. Since I too covet that Alexander McQueen coat, I would love to see you through fruition.

Anna,
I have found some for you in the US. Contact me and we can work something out.
Since I too covet that Alexander McQueen coat, I can't stand that you won't be able to finish it.

Hi Anna,
I will be going to LYS tomorrow. If you still need/want it, please drop me an email. If I buy it and send it to you, it should reach you in about 7 days. I live in Singapore. If you think you can get it in UK, do let me know too.. I really want to help..
You want Jaeger Extra Fine Merino Chunky Teal right?

Posted by: kris at February 15, 2007 08:58 AM
McA Direct have some by the looks of it, and they have excellent service too. They usually list colours in stock or that have run out, so it looks like you'll be lucky here too :D

I can't stand it - did you find some? Or is Pauline still tied to the tracks with the train whistling in the distance and the villain twirling his mustache?
Posted by: Juno at February 15, 2007 04:35 PM
Oh, tragedy. That must truly be the work of bad faeries. I will keep an eagle eye out for it here.
Posted by: Sybil at February 15, 2007 09:55 PM
Since I can't stand not knowing an answer I had to go look and can add this to your list in case the others were out.

I wish I could offer you the yarn you need, but I can't . I can offer you sympathyas I am in the middle of a project with the now discontinued Jaeger Chamonix and I'm not at all confident that I'll have enough. Of course, I'm not likely to know for sure until I reach the second sleeve or maybe the collar.
Stay strong and good luck in your quest.

I have a link to some EFM Chunky but the colors are listed by numbers only. Maybe one of these blueish / greenish shades are the teal youre looking for?

Dear Anna, I hope you have found the EFM yarn by now. Anyway, I've got a bag of DB Cotton Angora sitting here and wonder if it will be enough for a small/med-sized Claude? Cheers, Maryann

Hello Anna-
I'm delurking for you!
Perhaps you have already googled and discovered this site on the internet?
http://shop.royalyarns.com.
I mention it as I have not seen it in the above comments yet. They have 5 left in color Teal #028. The cost for 5 is $50.00. Not much of discount for being discontinued, is it? Humph!
This is the Teal link:

Good luck. Perhaps you can get some at Liberty though!
Posted by: Cindy at February 18, 2007 06:43 AM
I don't have that colour, but I'll ask around. Have you tried ebay?
Posted by: Ana at February 18, 2007 03:59 PM
Are you through swooning yet?
